Establish ownership of the technology and evidence of adoption

Technology founders should identify who owns the code, data rights, patents or licences essential to the product. A functioning demonstration is useful, but investors also need evidence that customers will adopt and pay for the service. Explain the revenue model, acquisition costs and continuing Islamic screening of business activities. If third-party infrastructure or a major platform is essential, disclose the dependence and how changing access or pricing could affect the business.

Relate development spending to commercial milestones

Separate research, product development, security, sales and ongoing support costs in the funding plan. Show how much capital is needed before recurring revenue can cover operations, with a contingency for slower adoption. Equity documentation should make employee options, founder vesting and future dilution visible. A venture fund and a crowdfunding campaign may provide different governance and support, so founders should compare control rights as carefully as the amount raised.
