Decide whether the contribution is a gift or a purchase
Reward crowdfunding may offer a book, workshop place or another nonfinancial benefit to supporters. An Islamic campaign must clarify whether that benefit is a token accompanying a gift or a product being sold in advance. That distinction affects delivery obligations and requires review of the applicable contract. The reward itself, the project activity and any element of chance need scrutiny; a charitable label cannot resolve an uncertain or impermissible transaction.
Price fulfilment before announcing reward tiers
Campaigners should budget production, packaging, shipping and taxes for every promised item, including deliveries outside their own country. State an achievable timetable and a fair approach to delays, substitutions or cancellation. A reward is not a dividend and should not be marketed as an investment return. Verify whether the chosen platform supports the proposed reward structure; donation services and equity marketplaces have different rules, even when all serve communities interested in Islamic finance.
