Calculate what reaches the project after deductions
Crowdfunding charges can sit at several points in a transaction: campaign setup, card processing, currency conversion, investor servicing and exit. A zero platform fee does not necessarily mean that a donation reaches its recipient without payment costs. For business finance, an arrangement fee and a contractual profit payment should be evaluated together when comparing the total obligation.
Compare cash flows on the same assumptions
Write down the amount contributed, amount disbursed, timing of payments and all stated deductions. Use the same funding duration and currency across competing offers. Ask what happens to processing charges after a refund and whether early settlement changes the amount payable. Check the provider's fee schedule immediately before committing, because a promotional headline may omit conditions that matter to your transaction.
