Somali banking verification should precede the contribution

The Central Bank of Somalia publishes a list of licensed banks, providing a practical way to check the institution named by a campaign. Islamic Relief separately describes humanitarian programmes in Somalia. A bank’s presence on the register does not approve every project using its account. Investors still need a clear contract, while donors need evidence that the organiser can deliver the stated assistance.

Follow the money through every stage of a Somali campaign

When contributions pass through an overseas organiser before reaching Somalia, identify both responsible entities and retain records of the transfer and final use. A small business proposal should explain inventory purchases, asset ownership and the revenue available for distributions. For relief, ask how recipients are selected and how sensitive information is protected. A functioning payment channel is necessary, but it is not proof of a campaign’s merits.
