An Iraqi campaign needs more than an Islamic finance label

Iraq has Islamic banks, but their existence does not establish permission for a separate website to sell investments or collect charitable funds. The Iraqi Islamic Bank for Investment and Development provides a banking reference, while Islamic Relief describes humanitarian programmes in Iraq. A campaign organiser should explain which institution receives the money and whether contributors are making an irrevocable gift or acquiring contractual financial rights.

Check the actual delivery channel into Iraq

Before contributing to an Iraqi family or community project, ask how the receiving organisation verifies beneficiaries and documents spending. For business funding, require details of the legal entity, assets and expected cash flows in the relevant currency. Overseas platform access and bank transfers may impose additional checks. Do not use another person’s account simply to bypass a provider’s location or identification requirements.
